Manawa library announces fall programs

Babygarten and Story Time resumed this week at the Sturm Memorial Library in Manawa.

During Babygarten, infants and children up to 2 years of age and their caregivers share nursery rhymes, songs, finger plays, bounces and books. The session always concludes with a free play period.

Babygarten is held at 11 a.m. Thursdays in January, February, April, May, July, August, October and November. No registration is required.

Preschool Story Time for ages 2-5 is held from 10:30-11 a.m. Thursdays. No registration is required.

Story Time is scheduled for most Thursdays in January, February, April, May, July, August October and November and is held in the meeting room at the library.

Preschool Story Time themes use The Very Ready Reading Program, designed to introduce parents, caregivers and children to the building blocks every child needs for speech and reading.

There are seven simple things that can be done every day to help with a child’s early literacy development. These things are as easy as sharing books, sounds, words, rhymes, songs, stories and playtime.
