Bears pull away in second half

Posted

It took a while for the Bonduel girls’ basketball team to get going in its Central Wisconsin Conference-East game with Weyauwega-Fremont.

Once the Bears found their rhythm, however, they were hard to stop.

Bonduel 19-12 at halftime on Dec. 3, but outscored the Warhawks by 20 points the rest of the way and returned home with a 55-28 win.

Cold shooting hurt both teams in the first half, but Bonduel went to the locker room with a 19-12 lead.

Hannah Pantzlaff’s three-pointer to open the second half cut the lead to four points, but Bonduel scored the next 10 points and added an 18-0 run later in the game to take control.

Pantzlaff and Olivia Witkowski led the Warhawks, both with eight points, while Bonduel’s Audrey Weier led all players with 11.
