William “Boog” H. Berwig Jr., age 72, of Clintonville passed away peacefully on Thursday, August 8th, 2024

at ThedaCare Medical Center- Shawano with his family at his side.

William Harry Berwig Jr. was born May 9, 1952 in Fond du Lac, WI the son of the late William Berwig Sr. and Geraldine (De Nell) Berwig. On February 16, 1974 he was united in marriage to Debra K. Kohel in Clintonville, WI. He was a faithful employee to FWD in Clintonville as a wireman for 38 years. He was a member of St. Rose Catholic Church. Boog was an avid bowler at the Clintonville Lanes, fisherman, hunter, wood carver, and painter. Painting was more than just a hobby for him; he was passionate about capturing nature and his family on canvas. He loved spending time with his family, listening to 60’s and 70’s music, and watching movies. He enjoyed the Eagles and the Beatles, as well as the ABBA soundtrack in Mamma Mia. Being the nature lover he was, one of his favorite pastimes was sitting out on his deck watching deer and turkeys eat apples and sunflower seeds.

Survivors include his wife of fifty years, Debra; two daughters: Tracy (Jeffrey) Van Zeeland and Kasey (Andrew) Wehlage; five granddaughters: Grace, Abigail, and Anna Van Zeeland; Ariana and Kamryn Wehlage; sisters Bonnie Allen and Lynn (Kevin) Kavanaugh; brothers: Robert and Frank (Becky) Berwig; brothers-in-law: Robert (Darlene) Kohel, Gary (Donna) Kohel, and Donald (Judy) Kohel; sisters-in-law: Kathy (Jim) Waite, Karen (Greg) Husman, and Mary (Glen) Zabel.

Boog is preceded in death by his parents; brother, Craig Berwig and sister, Sue Nowak.

Memorial Mass of Christian Burial will be held 11 AM on Thursday August 15, 2024 at St. Rose Catholic Church, Clintonville, with Fr. Timothy Shillcox, O. Praem, officiating. Inurnment will take place following the service at St. Rose Cemetery, Clintonville.

Visitation will take place on Thursday from 9 AM until the time of service.

In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund has been established in Boog’s memory.

The Eberhardt-Stevenson Funeral Home & Crematory, Clintonville is assisting the Berwig family.
