Bluegrass festival returns

MANAWA – A bluegrass festival to raise money for pancreatic cancer research has come back for another summer. Bluegrass at the Bertgrounds is a bluegrass concert held close to Bear Lake Campground at E5311 Bear Lake Road in Weyauwega.
The event will be held on June 7 starting at 5 p.m.
The event will feature three acts including The Missing Miles, The Millbillies from Milwaukee, and Montana Suede from Illinois.
The event is in honor of Bert Timm who passed away from pancreatic cancer. Timm was a fixture throughout the Manawa community and loved bluegrass music.
Tickets will cost $10 for adults, kids are free. There will also be food to purchase from local food trucks, including tacos and coffee. As for alcoholic beverages, it is bring-your-own beer.

Music is set to begin at 6 p.m.
The cancer research charity the event will raise money for is PanCAN. The PanCAN national charity funds research, conducts community outreach and advocates for increased federal research funding.
Sponsors include Union Still, Steve and Michelle’s Midtown, Buschke Carving, DASH Electric Contracting, The Mill in Bonduel, Steingraber Ponds and Valley Pest Control.
