Kenneth C. Bodoh, age 89, of Appleton, went to his Heavenly Home on Friday, September 23, 2011, after a courageous battle with cancer. Ken was born on December 2, 1921, in the Town of Matteson, to the late Abraham and Myrtle (Richer) Bodoh. He was a Clintonville area resident most of his life until he moved to Appleton in 1990. On September 11, 1943, he was united in marriage to Marjorie Wienandt, who preceded him in death on April 23, 1989. On July 28, 1990, he was united in marriage to Olga Heigl and resided in Appleton until his death. Ken lived in the Clintonville area for over 60 years where he was a dairy farmer, as well as being employed with the FWD for 31 years. He also drove school bus for the Clintonville School District for many years. Ken was a volunteer driver for Meal on Wheels for 13 years, delivering to the elderly home-bound in the Calumet County portion of Appleton until he was 81. Although he received only a mileage reimbursement he felt he was well-paid in the satisfaction he got from helping others. Ken also was a volunteer driver for the Outagamie County Department of Health and Human Services. He transported clients of all ages, from children to adults. Ken especially enjoyed being with his family and friends, playing cards and watching the Packers, Badgers and NASCAR races. He was an avid hunter and fisherman and loved the outdoors. Ken loved watching things grow in his garden and always shared his fruits of the season with family and neighbors. He was currently a member of St. Pius X Catholic Church in Appleton. Survivors include his wife of 21 years, Olga; two sons, Michael (Amy), and Brian (Dawn), Clintonville; five daughters, Marie (Robert) Dieck, Shiocton, Betty Wilber, Mary Tilton, Shawano, Carol (Walter) Schaefer, Clintonville, Theresa (Peter) Van Straten, Duluth, Minnesota; three step-children, Dolores (Carl) Wehrman, Appleton; Gloria Gurga, Illinois; and Dennis (Angie) Heigl, Golden Valley, Minnesota; 28 grandchildren; and 33 great grandchildren. He is further survived by sons-in-law Charles Kutchenriter, Clintonville, and Rick (Sue) Schlintz, Greenville, a daughter-in-law Sherri Bodoh, Clintonville, his brother Donald (Carol, friend), Clintonville; special friends, Joyce Kranzusch and Debbie Luchinski, Appleton; and many nieces, nephews and friends. He was preceded in death by his wife, Marjorie; his son, Robert; his daughters, Diane, Phyllis and Sandra; his grandson, Brian Jr.; his son-in-law, Bill Wilber; his sister, Birdie McHugh, his sister-in-law, Cora Bodoh; and his brother-in-law, Evy McHugh. The Funeral Liturgy was at 10:30 a.m. on Tuesday, September 27, 2011, at ST.ROSE CATHOLIC CHURCH, 27 Seventh Street, Clintonville, the Fr. Charles Brooks officiated. Friends called at the Wichmann Funeral Home, Appleton, on Monday from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. and again directly at the church on Tuesday from 9:30 a.m. until the time of services. There was a parish prayer and scripture service at the funeral home on Monday night at 6:30 p.m. Interment will be in Rose Cemetery, Clintonville. In lieu of flowers, a memorial has been established in Ken's name.
