David Russell Bohrnstedt, formerly of New London, passed away following a short illness on Friday, December 27, 2024 in Appleton, Wisconsin at the age of 91.  He was surrounded by his loving family.  David was born to the late Agnes and Russell Bohrnstedt on June 5, 1933 in Winona, Minnesota.  He grew up in Acadia, Wisconsin, alongside of his brother and sister, George and Mary Lou.  David entered the US Air Force during the Korean War, working as an airplane mechanic.  He spent most of his time in the Air Force at Hickam Air Base in Hawaii.  Following service with the Air Force, David attended the University of Wisconsin, Madison and graduated from the School of Pharmacy.  David was a licensed for over 50 years.  He took pride in serving his community and was a proud business owner alongside his wife, Esther.  David married Esther Slaby on November 30, 1957.  They raised three children together.  They stressed education, hard work, and personal integrity to their children.  David cherished family, friends, and fun.  He could make anyone laugh and was an especially gifted storyteller.  He looked forward to his morning coffee at The Pantry with the gang.  They solved world problems during those “meetings”!

David was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Mary Lou and his wife, Esther.

David is survived by his brother, George (Jennifer); children, Mark (Gisela), Lynn (Jeff) and Mike (April) and grandchildren, David, Lara, Madison Marie, Carly, Aleea and Clyde Ivan.

Per David’s request, the family will have a small private ceremony with immediate family to celebrate David’s life following the New Year.
