The Busy Bean, owned by Jason and Lisa Severson, will open its doors Monday, Feb. 5.
Located at 343 N. Bridge St., the coffee shop will serve traditional drip coffees from around the world, signature coffee and specialty coffees.
“We will serve breakfast sandwiches, bakery, ice cream and grab and go items,” said Lisa. “In the near future after opening, we will offer light lunch options, soups, salad and fruit.”
The coffee shop was previously known as Deja Brew.
“My husband and I have ties to Manawa, and I grew up there,” said Lisa. “When it became known that the current owners (Jamie and Allen Lane) were going to sell, we decided it would be a good opportunity. We know the town, know many people and have a place in our hearts for small towns.”
They hope to continue the comfortable and inviting coffee shop the Lanes started.
“We will bring our own love of coffee, delicious bakery and comfort food to the café,” said Lisa. “We have a passion for the Guatemalan culture and the coffee growing families in Central America and hope to introduce those elements to the café each day.”
The couple is excited to begin their new journey.
“I was in social services and nonprofit management for 17 years. But it’s time for a change and this opportunity presented itself,” said Lisa. “As a family, we decided it was time for me to follow my dream of owning my own business.”
Sipping a good cup of coffee, good food, friendship and laughter are important to the Seversons.
“We feel it is important to have one or all of those elements in your day, each day,” said Lisa. “We hope our customers will find that at The Busy Bean.”
The shop’s hours will be 7 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Friday and 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturday.
The Busy Bean can be reached at 920-596-2007. They can also be followed on Facebook and Instagram.
