Aug. 5 – A Waupaca woman on Long Cove Drive reported a suspicious vehicle that was parked in the same spot for a week. It looked like the windshield was smashed from the inside out.
Aug. 5 – The Wisconsin Veterans Home in King reported the theft of a denture with a gold filling.
Aug. 5 – Rawhide Youth Services reported a youth was throwing rocks at the staff.
Aug. 5 – A Marion caller on Peterson Road reported she had three checks stolen from her mailbox. Her neighbor also had mail taken.
Aug. 5 – An anonymous caller reported a juvenile with suicidal thoughts. The juvenile had superficial cuts and was drinking with no adults around.
Aug. 5 – A Manawa caller on Mill Street reported her neighbor placed a sign facing her address that says, “F* You.”
Aug. 6 – A Waupaca man on Emmons Creek Road reported a flashing strobe in the middle of the road. Nobody was around and there was no explanation for it.
Aug. 6 – A Waupaca woman on East Road reported an older man was banging on her door and later jumped in front of her vehicle.
Aug. 6 – An Iola man on Goli Road reported a warehouse was on fire.
Aug. 6 – A Waupaca caller on County Trunk E reported a woman was trespassing on her property.
Aug. 6 – A caller reported his brother – while living with their mother – drained her bank account before he moved out.
Aug. 6 – Rawhide Youth Services reported a juvenile runaway.
Aug. 6 – A caller reported she walked out to get the mail and was almost struck by a vehicle. She said there were always cars speeding on County Trunk Q.
Aug. 6 –The Wisconsin Veterans Home reported the theft of a $300 pre-paid bank card.
Aug. 6 – Eastside Mobil in Waupaca reported an employee stole $150 from the cash register.
Aug. 6 – A Manawa caller on State Highway 22 reported that a female was posting negative things about him on Facebook.
Aug. 6 – A Fremont man on County Trunk H reported he has a restraining order with conditions of no contact and no alcohol. The man text messaged the caller with an image of himself holding a drink.
Aug. 6 – Eastside Mobil in Waupaca reported an employee received a scam phone call of a person claiming to be the owner.
Aug. 6 – A New London caller on Otto Road reported someone was trespassing and digging and drilling on her land.
Aug. 7 – An Iola man on Ellefson Road called to ask about his bond and if he was allowed to have a knife. His friend was getting his dog for him to kill. His friend said the dog bit his children.
Aug. 7 – A Clintonville caller on Kuschel Road reported her neighbor was feeding her horses. This causes them to cluster, knock the fence down and get loose.
Aug. 7 – Rawhide Youth Services reported a juvenile shoved a staff member and punched another.
Aug. 7 – A Waupaca caller on Franklin Street reported her son put a gun in her mouth this morning. He took off in his pickup truck with medications and a pocketknife.
Aug. 7 – A Coleman caller reported she was trying to get a bee out of her van and she hit a Road Closed sign at full speed and smashed her windshield.
Aug. 7 – A 911 caller reported the death of an elderly man who fell.
Aug. 7 – An anonymous caller reported a white Mustang and a dark sedan were doing donuts in a parking lot.
Aug. 7 – A local tavern reported that a man brought his own drinks into the bar and the bar staff asked him to leave. Disgruntled, the man egged and threw garbage at the back of the building.
Aug. 7 – A Marion caller on Missall Lane reported he thought someone was trying to break into his truck.
Aug. 8 – A Waupaca woman on Butternut Road reported a neighbor stole their patio chaise and portions of their deck fence and sold them.
Aug 8. – A Waupaca man on East Road reported his neighbor was mowing his property.
Aug. 8 – A 911 caller reported a man and a woman lying by the side of the road. The man was bleeding at the back of the head. Both were intoxicated.
Aug. 8 – A Clintonville caller on Lakeshore Road reported a male trespasser was taking food out of her house.
Aug. 9 – Portage County Sheriff’s Office reported a white and blue “crotch rocket” speeding at over 100 mph on State Highway 54 near Town Line Road.
Aug. 9 – Rawhide Youth Services reported a juvenile threatened to harm another student. They confiscated an edged weapon.
Aug. 9 – A Clintonville caller on Olson Road reported a woman was harassing her via text messages.
Aug. 10 – An Iola caller on Johnson Road reported a suspicious man wandering around on foot. The caller spoke to the man who seemed confused. The man said he wanted to be friends.
Aug. 10 – An unknown caller reported a man wearing camouflage and a backpack and holding a big stick was yelling racial remarks by Woods Restaurant.
Aug. 10 – A caller reported that a juvenile was at Pick-n-Save in Waupaca to buy gift cards and was being blackmailed.
Aug. 10 – A Fremont caller on Wolf River Drive reported his mailbox was struck by a vehicle and mirror was lying in the ditch.
Aug.10 – An Ogdensburg woman on Saint Lawrence Street reported a female hitting a male.
Aug. 11 – A Clintonville woman on County Trunk C reported she hired a caretaker for her property to clean, take care of a cat, and take out garbage. The caller was gone for a year, came back and now items were missing.
Aug. 11 – A caller reported a juvenile followed another juvenile into the woman’s bathroom and crawled under the stall.
Aug. 11 – A Waupaca caller on State Highway 22 reported a man in a blue Dodge truck with no plates stopped near his property and the driver got out and made lewd gestures.
Aug. 11 – A Manawa woman on Cemetery Road reported a road rage incident involving her husband and another man.
There were few deer-auto collisions during this period. Seven controlled burns were called in. The water patrol stopped nine boats. A female caller reported an emaciated horse. A Waupaca woman reported a dog was eating her chickens. ThedaCare reported a woman was bitten by a stray cat. A Manawa man on Murray Road reported two loose horses. A Waupaca woman driving a VW Jetta hit a cow. The cow survived. There were numerous calls about trees blocking the roadway. An Iola caller on West Hill road reported downed power lines. A deputy escorted a turtle across the road.
