• April 6 – A caller requested an ambulance for an elderly woman that was possibly having a heart attack on Little River Road.
• April 6 – A caller reported the death of a 30-year-old male.
• April 6 – A caller reported the death of a 34-year-old male. The possible cause mentioned was a nut allergy.
• April 6 – A man reported he believed he and his wife got “roofied.” He said both of their heads were spinning. “Roofie” is slang for Rohypnol, a tasteless, colorless and odorless sedative that is used as a date rape drug. It is slipped into drinks and it depresses the central nervous system, causing dizziness, loss of motor control and anterograde amnesia.
• April 7 – A man reported a person in a 4WD vehicle was trespassing on the property of his summer home.
• April 7 – A woman reported her 33-year-old son was suicidal and extremely intoxicated.
• April 7 – A woman reported she received 27 messages in the past 30 minutes from an unknown party.
• April 7 – An unknown caller reported a 27-year-old man said he was not feeling well. He was answering questions inappropriately and said he was dying. He went outside and when he returned he was acting “weird as [expletive].”
• April 7 – ThedaCare Behavioral Health reported a man said he hates his parents and has homicidal thoughts towards them. He lives with them and said he he was afraid he might lose control.
• April 9 – A caller reported the theft of approximately 500 pounds of stainless steel scrap. The caller described the suspects as two Mexican men in their 30s or 40s.
• April 10 – A caller reported the death of a 73-year-old man. He was outside in the driveway and he appeared to have struck his head.
• April 10 – A man reported he wrote a check to Discover and it was intercepted and “washed.”
• April 10 – A man reported someone in a dark sedan dumped off a dog and sped off towards Waupaca.
• April 10 –Rawhide Youth Services reported a juvenile damaged some property and assaulted another youth.
• April 10 – A man reported a suspicious vehicle that pulled up to his residence and was walking around with a flashlight.
• April 10 – A woman reported a man woke her up and attacked her. She escaped on foot wearing boxer shorts and a Chicago Bears t-shirt.
• April 11 – A woman reported a suspicious car pulled into her driveway at 3:40 a.m. and stayed for a while. She said it was in ongoing problem. A camera might have recorded the license plate.
• April 11 – A caller reported a wildfire covering an acre and a half with two to three foot flames in the Town of Wyoming on County Trunk C.
• April 11 – Good Time Charlie’s Bar & Grill in Clintonville reported a fight between two men.
• April 12 – A caller reported a kayaker fell into the water, was now sitting on a log but unable to hold himself up.
• April 12 – A caller reported a missing person that has autism.
• There were ten deer-related calls during this period. Fifteen controlled burns were called in. The sheriff’s water patrol stopped one boat. A woman reported her neighbor’s beagle was pooping on her lawn and porch and it was an ongoing issue. ThedaCare Waupaca reported a man was bit by a neighbor’s dog. ThedaCare New London reported a woman was bit by a barn cat and another person was bit by their own dog.
The second week of April is designated as National Public Safety Telecommunicators Week. Thank you to the dispatchers that work behind the scenes to keep the community and first responders safe.
