St. Mary Magdalene Catholic Church will host this year’s free community Christmas meal.
Sponsored by the Waupaca Area Ministerial Association, the annual meal is hosted annually at various local churches and open to the community.
“Our belief is that nobody should be alone on Christmas,” said Barbara Koster, who is helping organize the meal at St. Mary Magdalene. “They should have someplace to come together, to enjoy good food, companionship with others and enjoy Christmas music.”
Vocal and instrumental music will be performed.
The meal is scheduled from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Monday, Dec. 25, at St. Mary Magdalene’s fellowship hall, located at N2845 Shadow Road, near the intersection of State Highway 22 and U.S. Highway 10.
The free meal will feature chicken, ham, potatoes and gravy, green beans, dinner rolls, fruit salad and homemade pies.
Koster said Schueller’s will provide some of the food, while church volunteers also made some of it.
About 200 people are expected to attend, so reservations are needed by noon Monday, Dec. 18, by calling the church office at 715-258-2088.
While the goal is to encourage fellowship, meals can be delivered to shut-ins by calling the number above.
