The Clintonville Truckers faced the 12th-ranked Thunderbirds on May 12 in a non-conference game.
The Truckers took an early lead in the bottom of the first inning. Zach Johnson scored on a groundout by Reece Killips, and Rogan Schertz hit a line drive double to make it 2-0.
In the top of the third inning, the Thunderbirds tied the game with a walk and a hit by pitch with bases loaded that made the score 2-2.
Griffin Killips singled on a line drive to go up 3-2, and Zach Johnson drove in a run with a single of his own to make the score 4-2.
Wyatt Wolberg drove in a run in the fifth inning on a sacrifice fly to cut the deficit to 4-3.
Matthew Gross extended the Clintonville lead to 6-3 with a two-run double, and Zach Johnson drove in three runs with a double to give the Truckers a 9-3 lead.
Parker Soldner punctuated the fifth inning with a single that drove in a run and made the score 10-3.
Wolberg gave Iola another run in the seventh inning as he hit into an error as Ben Gruba scored to make it a 10-4, but the Thunderbirds could not rally as Clintonville got their first win of the season.
