Clintonville hopes to move on from a season to forget, going winless in their 2025 campaign. The Truckers scored in only four of their games last season, and scored two touchdowns only once, in their season finale.
The Truckers are hopeful that a young squad with sophomores and freshmen will give some fresh air moving forward in the Northwoods conference as they return five starters from last year’s offense.
Losing multi-time all-conference member Zach Johnson to graduation will be tough for Clintonville as he accounted for all five of the total touchdowns for the Truckers last season and was named a Northwoods honorable mention defensive back while leading the team in passing with 300 yards, rushing with 176 yards and two touchdowns, receiving with 188 yards on 13 catches and two touchdowns, and defensively shared the lead in tackles with 44 and scored a defensive touchdown with a fumble recovery returned for six points.
Clintonville also loses its lone all-conference representative offensively, in lineman Ryan Gauthier, who was named to the All-Northwoods team for the third consecutive season in 2025.
The Truckers allowed 50 points in six of their nine contests, but are optimistic that maturity in the six returning starters can help prevent their defensive woes.
Jayden Ebert, who shared the lead in tackles (44), returns after having four tackles for loss and a sack a season ago.
