Waupaca’s boys’ soccer team improved to 2-0 in North Eastern Conference play Sept. 12 with a 4-1 win over Fox Valley Lutheran at Comet Field.
Keenin Polebitski opened the scoring for the Comets with a goal 25 minutes into the game off of an assist from Zack Thuerman.
Four minutes later, Polebitski assisted on Forrest Ziebell’s goal to give the home team a 2-0 lead.
Lucas Huang scored the Foxes’ goal 36 minutes into the game, but Ziebell answered two minutes later off of an assist from William Brandl-Koerwitz.
The Foxes kept the Comets scoreless in the second half until Polebitski scored in the 63-minute mark on a header off of a cross from Thuerman.
Bailey Colden made 11 saves in goal for Waupaca.
The Comets will travel to Luxemburg Tuesday, Sept. 19, for a 4:30 p.m. North Eastern matchup with Luxemburg-Casco.
