Polebitski, Hanke score
By Greg Seubert
It wasn’t a win, but on the other hand, it wasn’t a loss, either.
The Waupaca boys’ soccer team snapped its three-game North Eastern Conference losing streak Oct. 3 with a 2-2 tie against Marinette at Comet Field.
The tie came after the Comets had dropped a 2-0 decision to Freedom, a 1-0 to Clintonville and a 7-2 contest to Luxemburg-Casco in their last three conference games.
Keenin Polebitski gave Waupaca a 1-0 lead 17:12 into the game, but the Marines tied the game less than three minutes later on a goal from Dakota Patton.
Waupaca regained the lead in the 30th minute on Brett Hanke’s goal, but Marinette tied the game 8:19 into the second half on Takoda Schreiner’s goal.
Neither team scored the rest of the way.
