Waupaca police arrested a man suspected of crimes involving several local businesses.
Ryan S. Lubinski, 39, was taken into custody on Wednesday night, May 29.
On April 24, Waupaca police investigated a burglary complaint where a business was broken into and money was stolen.
On May 23, police investigated an incident where a unknown man damaged an ATM in Waupaca when he attempted to gain access to it.
On May 28, someone broke into a Waupaca business and allegedly stole cash.
According to police, Lubinski became a suspect early in the investigation.
Lubinski was seen in the downtown area. When officers attempted to stop him, he fled on foot, entered an unlocked apartment building and escaped out the front door. Police were unable to apprehend him.
On May 29, Waupaca police responded to a complaint that a man reached behind the counter of a convenience store and stole numerous lottery tickets.
A man matching Lubinski’s description was seen running from the 1000 block of West Fulton Street.
Using a drone and a K9 from the Waupaca county Sheriff’s Office, police located Lubinski hiding in a wooded area and took him into custody.
According to police, Lubinski admitted to the offenses when questioned on May 30.
Waupaca police forwarded the information to the district attorney’s office, requesting charges for burglary, theft, criminal trespass, resisting arrest, criminal damage to property and disorderly conduct.
