Linda Dobbe, of Waupaca, age 72, passed away on Friday, July 26, 2024.
She was born in Waupaca on February 23, 1952, to the late Arthur and Viola (Luther) Marotz.
Linda graduated from Waupaca High School in 1970, and went on to pursue her passion for nursing at Fox Valley Technical College. Her dedication to caring for others led her to a fulfilling career as a Licensed Practical Nurse at the Wisconsin Veterans Home, where she worked for over 24 years. Linda’s compassion made a lasting impact on many lives.
On February 6, 1971, Linda married Glenn Dobbe. Together they raised two daughters. Her eventual role as grandma of six brought her much joy, and she was affectionately known as “Grandma Treat.” Linda was overjoyed to recently become a great-grandmother to Charlie Hupalo Curtis, a milestone that filled her with pride and happiness.
Linda is survived by Glenn, and their two daughters: Debbie (Mark) Townsend, and Laura (Marc) Waite, grandchildren: Andrew (Sofiya Hupalo) Curtis, Alyssa Townsend, Caitlyn Townsend, Seth Waite, Allie (Luis) Melo, Ella Waite, and Charlie Curtis. She is also survived by siblings: one brother and three sisters and in-laws, numerous nieces and nephews as well as great nieces and nephews.
Linda had a heart as big as it was kind. Her joy came from helping others and caring for her pets (many dogs and cats over the years).
Linda’s legacy is one of love, compassion, and selflessness. Her memory will live on in the hearts of her family, friends, and all who were touched by her kindness. She will be deeply missed but fondly remembered for the warmth and generosity she brought into the lives of those around her.
We will fondly remember her and celebrate her life on Friday, August 2, 2024 at Trinity Lutheran Church. Visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service at 11:30 a.m.
In lieu of flowers, a memorial is being established in her name.
