The Clintonville Easter Egg Hunt has been scheduled for Saturday April 7 at Bucholtz Park. Once again the Park and Recreation Department is organizing the event.
As always lots of help is needed to make the Easter Egg Hunt successful. In 2011 243 local youth took part in the event.
The department is seeking monetary donations to purchase prizes and candy to be given away during the Hunt, also any items that can be used as prizes, plastic bags to put the prizes in, as well as volunteers to help with various aspects of the event. The hunt costs a significant amount of money, which the department is expected to raise through donations, in lieu of using tax dollars. Specifically a youth group is being sought to help hide the 1000 plastic eggs that need to be hidden throughout the park the morning of the hunt. Businesses, organizations and individuals interested in helping out are asked to contact Dick Writt (after March 2nd Justin Mc Auly) at the Park and Recreation Department 823-7660.
On Saturday April 7th, two hunt times have been set up - 10 am for those youth age 5 and under and 10:30 am for youth age 6-10. Each of the 1000 eggs being hidden when found and turned in will entitle the youth to a special prize. The number of eggs that each child can find and turn in will be limited. Any child not finding at least one egg (which is highly unlikely) will still receive a prize.
The Easter Bunny will be making a special appearance at the Easter Egg Hunt once again this year, and it is hoped that several other friends of the Easter Bunny will be present as well.
