Fatal crash in Waupaca County

One person was killed in a crash on Buelow Road at the intersection of County Trunk T north of New London in the town of Lebanon.

The Waupaca County Sheriff’s Office received a report of the crash around 10:30 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 18.

Preliminary investigation determined the vehicle was traveling southbound on Buelow Road when the driver failed to negotiate a curve. The vehicle then struck a utility pole.

The driver was pronounced deceased at the scene. The passenger of the vehicle was airlifted to ThedaCare Neenah by ThedaStar due to injuries sustained from the crash.

Alcohol is believed to be a factor in the crash. This crash remains under investigation. No names have been released.

The Waupaca County Sheriffs Office was assisted by the New London Police Department, New London Fire Department, Gold Cross Ambulance Service, ThedaStar and Waupaca County Medical Examiner’s Office.
