Nathan “Steve” Friedrich, age 82, of the town of Scandinavia, passed away peacefully at home on Monday, January 6, 2025. He was born in Zittau on June 26, 1942 to Nathan and Dorothy (Boese) Friedrich. He was married to Laura Bell for 34 years and together they had a son, Bryan. She passed away November 21, 1995. Steve was a heavy equipment operator for Outagamie County for over 20 years and retired at the age of 58. He was an avid hunter, fisherman and snowmobiler.
He is survived by his significant other, Dottie Franke of Scandinavia; son, Bryan Friedrich of Neenah; sisters, Dawn (Harold) Gripentrog of Texas and Peggy (Fred) Howe of Zittau; and brother, Jon Friedrich (significant other, Marilyn Henke) of Kentucky. Steve is further survived by Laura’s extended family and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Laura; and two sisters, Jane and Karen.
A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, January 17, 2025 at Maple Crest Funeral Home. Visitation will be held from 9 a.m. until the time of the service. He will be laid to rest at Farmington Lutheran Cemetery.
