Ruth M. Garner, age 87 of Waupaca, WI formerly of Fayetteville, NC and Surf City, NC passed away on Wednesday, January 8, 2025 at ThedaCare in Waupaca. Ruth was born on July 23, 1937; daughter of the late Daniel and Rilla (Mahaffey) McKethan in Cumberland, NC. On July 3, 1955 she married her sweetheart, Leonard Garner, he preceded her in death on March 4, 2017.
Ruth enjoyed reading, puzzles, gardening and especially time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She also enjoyed her bible study at Fellowship Baptist Church.
Ruth is survived by her son, Kirk Garner of Fayetteville, NC; daughter, Lynn (Rick) Anderson of Waupaca, WI; grandson, William Anderson of Milwaukee, WI; granddaughter, Jennifer Ross of Hortonville, WI; great-grandsons, Owen Ross, Eli Ross, Sawyer Ross; grandson, Zachary Anderson of Wausau, WI; great-grandsons, Milo Anderson, Lincoln Anderson; granddaughter, Jessica Anderson of Plover, WI; also many other relatives and friends.
Celebration of life for Ruth Garner will be held at 1:00 PM on Saturday, January 18, 2025 at Fellowship Baptist Church in Waupaca, WI. An ice cream social to follow.
A Memorial Service will be held at 12:00 PM on Saturday, January 25, 2025 at The Gathering in Surf City, NC. Visitation will be held from 11:00 AM until time of service at The Gathering. Holly Funeral Home of Waupaca, WI is assisting the family with arrangements.
