Gunderson, Donna

Donna M. Gunderson, 78, Town of Maine, passed away on Thursday, August 6, 2015 at Meadow Wood Assisted Living, Seymour.

She was born July 8, 1937, a daughter of the late Harland and Celia (Nelson) Greely. On June 13, 1959 she was united in marriage to Harland Gunderson in Leeman. He preceded her in death February 8, 2015. Donna was a teacher at Nichols Elementary and she taught fourth grade at St. Rose, Clintonville for 25 years. Donna was a member of Trinity United Church of Christ, Shiocton where she was on the Council and the New Hope Circle for many years and a member of Leeman Homemakers. Family meant everything to her; she loved spending time with her grandkids and great-grand kids. Together with Harland she continued to operate the family farm in the Town of Maine until their retirement. She was the best lunch lady around.

She is survived by her children: Lori (Bill) Westphal, Bruce (Rachel) Gunderson, Paul (Lisa) Gunderson, and Beth (Randy) Bergsbaken; 10 grandchildren: Jeremy (Andrea) and Matthew Westphal, Michelle (Ken) Loewenhagen, Eric (Brianna), Brittany, Dominic, Garrett, Benjamin, and Gabrielle Gunderson, and Kyle Bergsbaken; seven great-grandchildren: Madeline, Makensie, and Gwenyth Westphal, Morgan, Parker, and Bryson Loewenhagen, and Oliver Gunderson; siblings: Nelson (Clara) Greely, Gloria (David) Knapp, Rita (Larry) Cox, Gayle (Charles) Herb, Dawn (Jack) Schmoll. Further survived by her sister-in-law, Katherine (Bob) Wick; two brothers-in-law, John Gunderson and Leon (Donna) Gunderson. Donna is preceded in death by a grandson, Jacob Bergsbaken; mother and father-in-law, Benjamin and Edna (Sayers) Gunderson.

Friends may call at Trinity United Church of Christ, Leeman, on Tuesday, August 11, 2015 from 11:30 a.m. until the funeral service at 2 p.m. with Pastor Moira Finley officiating. Interment will take place at Graceland Cemetery, Clintonville. Online condolences may be expressed at www.muehlboettcher.com.
