The Hortonville Stars traveled on Aug. 9 to face the Hofa Park Panthers in Dairyland League play.
Maikol Gonzales put Hortonville on top in the first inning with a sacrifice fly as Andrew Wedwick scored on an error to go up 1-0.
Wedwick put the Stars up 3-0 in the second inning with a two-run home run on a fly ball to left field.
Hofa Park cut into the Stars’ lead with an RBI single and a fielder’s choice, making it a 3-2 lead for the Stars.
In the bottom of the third inning, Hofa Park singled on a line drive to center field to tie the game 3-3.
The Stars took the lead in the fourth inning, with an RBI single by Gonzales to right field to make the score 4-3.
A sacrifice fly in the fifth inning led to an RBI to make the score 5-3 in favor of Hortonville.
Gonzales singled in the sixth inning on a hard ground ball to center field to make it a 6-3 lead.
In the top of the ninth inning, Hortonville put the exclamation point on the game with a solo home run by Logan Locy to left field to give the Stars the four-run lead, winning by a final score of 7-3.
