Roy J. Harvey, age 83, of Ogdensburg, WI, passed away peacefully at home under hospice care on Wednesday, February 5, 2025.
Roy was born on December 3, 1941, in Milwaukee, WI, to William and Leona (James) Harvey. On November 14, 1975, he married Audrey J. Krofta in Milwaukee, and together they built a life filled with love, hard work, and a deep appreciation for the simple joys of country living.
For many years, Roy and Audrey lived and worked in the Milwaukee area, but his heart was always with the farm in Ogdensburg. Every weekend, he would make the trip to tend to the horses he raised, ensuring they were well cared for. In 1997, he and Audrey made the farm their permanent home, where he spent his retirement doing what he loved—training horses, hunting, and fishing. He found peace in the quiet of the land and joy in the companionship of the animals he cared for.
Roy will be dearly missed by his devoted wife, Audrey Harvey of Ogdensburg, along with many nieces, nephews, extended family members, and friends who cherished his steady presence and kind heart.
He was preceded in death by his parents, William and Leona Harvey; his sisters, Darlene Graway and Marjene Medeiros; and his brothers, Richard Harvey and Russell Harvey.
A Memorial Service for Roy will be on Thursday, February 13, 2025 at 11:00 AM at the Holly Funeral Home in Waupaca, with visitation from 10:00 AM until the time of service at the funeral home. Pastor Carlos Ancheta with Seventh Day Adventist Church in New London will officiate. Burial will take place this spring at Park Cemetery in Ogdensburg. The Holly Funeral Home of Waupaca is assisting the family with arrangements.
Though Roy has left this world, his legacy lives on in the fields he walked, the animals he cared for, and the hearts of those who knew and loved him.
