A high-scoring contest resulted in a defeat for the Polar Bears boys basketball in the Fox Valley Association as they lost at home against the Kimberly Papermakers on Tue, Jan.28.
In the first half, it was a back-and-forth matchup as Hortonville took the early lead, but Kimberly was able to get the advantage as they went into the locker room with a 33-31 lead.
Hortonville’s Ethan Joling scored 10 in the first half and Riley Mueller scored seven for the Polar Bears.
At the beginning of the first half, the Papermakers went on a 25-14 run to open the second half.
The Polar Bears struggled to make up the deficit as the Papermakers closed the game winning 88-78.
Kimberly’s Landen Van Offeren scored a game-high 28 points, while Joling scored 25 and Mueller scored 22.
