WAUPACA – The 2024 Waupaca Area Chamber of Commerce held an awards ceremony on Feb. 4 at TheEight10 to recognize the business excellence of their member businesses and their contributions to the community.
Rising Star Award: The Gouda Life
The Gouda Life, led by Sheila and her daughter Sadie, offers a wide selection of cheese, crackers, gifts and wine, fulfilling a much-needed niche in the Waupaca area. The Gouda Life actively participates in community events and this year they took first place with their Mexican street corn chowder for the Souper Waupaca Day Soup Walk.
Grand Facelift Award: TheEight10
The former home of the Zwicker Knitting Mill, The Eight10 was renovated as an elegant contemporary venue for all kinds of gatherings. TheEight10, next to H.H. Hinder Brewing Company, has breathed new life into the Churchill Street commercial corridor.
Small Business of the Year: Whitetail Valley Dairy & Beef
Whitetail Valley Dairy & Beef has become known for its high-quality products and dedication to giving back. Their annual Christmas Market, featuring local vendors and festive activities, is a well-attended event, with proceeds donated to local charities.
Large Business of the Year: Strongwood
Since 2000, Strongwood has been a cornerstone of the Waupaca business community. In the past year, they have increased construction revenue by nearly one million dollars and expanded their workforce. They have implemented new software and training programs to streamline processes and enhance communication. Strongwood’s commitment to community service is evident through their Strongwood Impact Team and support for local schools and philanthropic causes.
