In the first defeat for the Hortonville girls after losing the team’s leading scorer, Rainey Welson, due to a knee injury. The Polar Bears could not muster enough points to compete with Appleton East at home on Feb 7.
The Polar Bears were outscored 33-11 in the first half and could not put together consistent offense in the second half as well as the Appleton East defense continued to swarm Hortonville.
The final score was 63-22, and the Polar Bears’ high scorer was Taylor Lillie with eight points.
