Hortonville, Welson dominate in win over Oshkosh North

Rainey Welson put on a show against visiting Oshkosh West on Friday, Jan. 17, as she dropped 43 points to get an FVA win.

The Polar Bears jumped out to an early 18-8 lead, and that was as close as the deficit would get for the remainder of the game.

Welson, a University of Maryland commit, would score 31 points in the first half in different ways, including the game’s most memorable highlight as she sank a deep three to beat the buzzer and send Hortonville into the locker room up 40-14.

Hortonville kept their foot on the gas pedal as they won 75-41 to keep themselves in contention for the Fox Valley Association championship.
