“Those we love don’t go away, they walk beside us every day, unseen, unheard, but always near, still loved, still missed and very dear.”
The world lost a fun-loving, genuine soul on September 1, 2024, when Carol Ann Huebner, surrounded by family, went to her eternal home in heaven.
Carol was born May 21, 1946 in Janesville, WI and spent her early childhood in Coon Valley, WI amongst the beautiful bluffs of western WI before moving to State Center, Iowa where she graduated from West Marshall High School in 1964. Carol spent much of her adult life raising her children in Waupaca County, WI. After her children were grown, she spent a couple years in the Greater Madison, WI area and Fredericksburg, IA before returning to Waupaca County. The last several years of her life, Carol lived in the warm temperatures of Largo, FL with her sister.
Carol worked several places during her life, and wherever she was, she made friends easily with her kind demeanor. Teaching was always a passion and she earned her BA from UW Stevens Point and joyfully completed her work life as an Early Childhood Teacher.
Carol found joy in the simple things in life. She enjoyed feeding and watching birds, spoiling pets – dogs, cats and even horses as a young child, baking, making homemade cards with her card-making group, bowling, singing, watching Disney and Hallmark movies and just being in the presence of friends and family. She was always smiling, and her contagious laugh will echo in the hearts of all those that knew her.
Carol’s most treasured titles in life were Mom and Grandma. She loved her family fiercely. She attended every sporting event she could to show her support, even making trips back to Wisconsin from Florida to not miss her grandchildren’s milestone events. She enjoyed playing board games, cribbage, and cards, loved to bake, do crafts, color and watch movies with her family. When she wasn’t with her grandchildren, she would proudly be boasting about them to anyone who would listen.
Carol’s legacy lives on, and she is forever loved by those she left behind. Loving Mom to Kevin (Michelle) Samuelson, Keith (Amy) Samuelson, and Stacey (née Baldwin) (Traves) Weed. Proud Grandma to Mikayla, Ella and Elaina Samuelson; Nicole (Jake) Lionberg, Anastasia (Noah) Alix, Samantha Ehrenberg, Chloe Genske; Cohan, Jace, Alanna and Kale Weed. Great-Grandma to Marcus, Claire and Elliot Lionberg. Devoted sister to Lynn (Martha Harrington) Dunn, supportive Aunt to Jennifer Dunn, and treasured friend to many who loved her dearly.
Carol was preceded in death by her parents, Ronald and Ruth Johnson.
A Christian memorial service will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday, September 28 th at Our Savior’s Lutheran Church 147 E 4th Ave Stanley, WI 54768 (internment and luncheon will follow).
