Also on June 14, children and adults can bring their own crafts to work on during Crafting Bee, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Check out the library's Facebook page to see some of the projects the crafters have already made.
The library's teen program, World Trek, begins with a henna party from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m. Friday, June 17. Individuals age 11 through adult can choose or create a henna design to be drawn on their ankle, hand or arm. Face glitter will also be available for younger children.
The Book Group will meet at 4 p.m. Thursday, June 23, to discuss Snow Flower and the Secret Fan. This deeply moving novel by Lisa See is set in 19th-century China.
As you dive into your summer reading list, remember that just one hour of reading or being read to could win you a great prize, a free pass to a state historic site, or help someone in need, but only if you sign up for the library's summer reading program! Everyone, adults as well as children and teens, may register at any time by visiting the Scandinavia Public Library or visiting the website at www.scandinavialibrary.org.
