Shirley A. Jorgensen, age 89, of Waupaca, passed away peacefully Friday, January 3, 2025 at Bethany Home. She was born in Neenah on March 4, 1935 to Walter and Erna (Kleinschmidt) Drechsel. She was a 1953 graduate of Menasha High School. She worked for many years as a housekeeper at Bethany Home. Shirley was an avid Brewers and Packers fan. She loved family, doing word searches and crossword puzzles, and also enjoyed scrapbooking.
She will be dearly missed by her daughters: Phyllis (Donald) Gustke of Waupaca, Nancy Berg of Waupaca and Lisa Gustke of New London; son-in-law, Jeff Carlson of Waupaca; sister-in-law, Mary Drechsel of Neenah; 11 grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren and one great great grandchild.
Shirley was preceded in death by her parents; daughter, Judy Carlson; brothers: Robert, James, Walter and Gerald; and sister, Lois Andrews.
The funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, January 11, 2025 at Trinity Lutheran Church of Waupaca. Visitation will be held from 9 a.m. until the time of service at the church. Burial will take place at Farmington Lutheran Cemetery.
The family extends their heartfelt gratitude to the staff of Bethany Home and ThedaCare Hospice for their care of mom.
