Margie A. Kaplinski, age 68, of Waupaca, WI, passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday, June 5, 2024 at ThedaCare Regional Medical Center in Neenah, WI.
She was born on January 26, 1956 in Clintonville, WI, the daughter of Walter and Marie (Hohn) Krenke.
Margie dedicated her life to caring for others, earning her three-year nursing diploma and working at Mercy Medical in Oshkosh. It was there, on the night shift, that she met “the one.” On February 6, 1981 Margie married John W. Kaplinski in Oshkosh, WI. Together, they shared 43 years of love and partnership.
Margie and John were devoted members of St. John’s Lutheran Church in Saxeville, where she found joy in the hymns sung by the choir and cherished the fellowship with her church family. Margie had a passion for quilting and gardening and took pride in maintaining an immaculate home for herself and John.
Margie will be dearly missed by her husband John Kaplinski of Waupaca; a sister Bernice “Bea” (Michael) Rodencal of Poy Sippi; two brothers Karl (Gloria) Krenke of Clintonville and Bruce (Mary) Krenke of New London; and by many nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents Walter and Marie Krenke, and a sister Lois Hess.
A Memorial Service for Margie will be on Thursday, June 27, 2024 at 11:00 AM at St. John’s Lutheran Church, W4570 County Road A, Saxeville, WI. Pastor Kristina Jensen and Pastor Rick Engen, officiating. A visitation will be held on Thursday morning from 10:00 – 11:00 AM at the church. Burial will take place following the service on Thursday at Hilltop Cemetery in Saxeville. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Lutheran World Relief, c/o St. John’s Lutheran Church, in Margie’s honor. The Holly Funeral Home of Waupaca is assisting the family with arrangements.
