CLINTONVILLE – The Clintonville Board of Education approved the hire of Alicia Korth as associate principal at Clintonville Elementary School, effective Aug. 27.
The board approved the hire when it met, Sept. 14.
At the meeting, Clintonville Superintendent Troy Kuhn told the board that since Korth started at the district, “She stepped right in and then jumped in with training, professional development, all that kind of stuff.”
When asked via email why Korth was allowed to start working for the district before the board officially approved the hire, Kuhn said that in closed session at a previous board meeting the board had given him the directive to fill the elementary associate principal vacancy.
“But then we put it in an open session for a future meeting, to make it more transparent,” Kuhn stated in the email.
Kuhn added that Korth has experience as an Act 20 literacy coach, At Risk, SAGE teacher, elementary teacher, and elementary reading interventionist.
Korth replaces Matthew Hanson, whose last day was Aug. 21, after he submitted his resignation.
