Literacy night in Manawa

Summer reading encouraged for students, parents

Manawa Elementary School held a spring literacy night on Thursday, April 28, entitled “Put Reading at the Top of Your Summer Bucket List.”

Families who attended received free books and snacks and learned about keeping students engaged in reading over the summer.

Reading specialist Jackie Gast and reading interventionist Judy Connelly led an interactive reading workshop mini lesson.

Parents and their children spent time reading on beach towels and under umbrellas to encourage a fun-filled summer of reading.
