John Lockwood won another term on the Waupaca Common Council in the April 5 election.

He ran as a write-in candidate in Aldermanic District 4 after he did not file his nomination papers by the January deadline.

Deputy City Clerk Sandy Stiebs said there were a number of names written in on this spring's ballot, and Lockwood's name was written in the most - 35 times.

Lockwood was appointed to fill a vacant seat in that district in the fall of 2008 and was elected to his first, two-year term in April 2009.

In the city's other four aldermanic districts, the incumbents were unopposed. Re-elected in the April 5 election were Paul Lehman in the 1st District, Paul Hagen in the 2nd District, Scott Purchatzke in the 4th District and Steve Hackett in the 5th District.
