Logo design contest in October

Posted
Youths under age 16 who live within the Waupaca School District are invited to participate in a logo design contest.

The winning logo will go onto cloth grocery tote bags provided by the Waupaca Area Food Pantry (WAFP).

Winning prizes include a $25 gift certificate from the Waupaca Area Chamber of Commerce for first place, a $15 chamber gift certificate for second place and a $10 chamber gift certificate for third place.

The tote bags are 13 inches by 15 inches, and the logo must fit within a 4-inch by 8-inch imprint area. The bags are burgundy in color, and the logo will be a single color. Once created, the logo should be transferred to burgundy colored paper provided at the library.

The logo design should emphasize nutritional food, a good diet or the importance of using a reusable, returnable bag. The logo should not emphasize WAFP.

The rules and other information will be available in the lower level of the Waupaca Area Public Library Children's Department starting Thursday, Sept. 23. The deadline to submit the logo creations is Friday, Oct. 22, and the judging for winners will be completed on Oct. 29.

Judging will be by three people who are not members of the WAFP board of directors.
