Robert William Magdanz, beloved husband, father and grandfather passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday, October 22, 2024, at his home in Pine River.
He was born on November 18, 1946 in Waupaca, WI, the son of the late Elmer and Gertrude (Mundinger) Magdanz.
On August 26, 1967, Robert married his high school sweetheart, Carol Bucholtz. They were blessed with four sons and were later blessed with ten grandchildren, whom Bob was extremely proud of.
He farmed his entire life on the family farm in Pine River, he especially enjoyed operating equipment and doing field work. Bob had a passion for farming, and while he made many sacrifices, he dedicated his life to the farm and raised his family to share that same passion and work ethic in caring for the land and the animals. He and Carol opened their farm to others by hosting the Waushara County Breakfast on the Farm in 1998. More recently, the farm hosted Weyauwega-Fremont FFA’s Food for America program. After his health declined, Bob still loved watching the farm activities from his chair and was always planning another project. Bob served on the Board of Directors for the Weyauwega, Wolf River and Larsen cooperatives for 28 years. He also loved watching the Brewers on TV and he never missed a game. Bob was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church in Waupaca. After he was unable to get to church anymore, he continued listening to the Sunday morning service on the radio at 8 AM. He will be very sadly missed by his family.
Bob is survived by his wife of 57 years, Carol; his four sons, Ron (Renee) Magdanz, Dan (Medora) Magdanz, Tim (Holly) Magdanz, and Steve (Elly) Magdanz; six grandsons, Payton (Fiancée’ Erin), Bryce, Colby, Tate, Owen and Logan; four granddaughters, Brooklyn (Special Friend, Ross), Jessica (Special friend, Cody), Bethany and Riley.
He was preceded in death by a grandson, Jacob, four brothers-in-law and four sisters-in-law.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, October 30, 2024 at 11:00 am at Immanuel Lutheran Church, 1120 Evans St., Waupaca. Rev. Ron Siemers will officiate. Visitation will be held at the church on Wednesday, from 9:00 am until 11:00 am. Burial will be in Lind Center Cemetery.
