Manawa and Weyauwega-Fremont’s football teams tuned up for their upcoming Central Wisconsin Conference-Large matchup with the final nonconference game of the season.
Manawa fell to 1-1 Aug. 25 with a 49-6 loss to Marshall, while Weyauwega-Fremont improved to 2-0 with a 50-0 win over Rosholt.
Manawa trailed 35-6 at halftime and scored its only touchdown in the second quarter on Dakota Stroud’s 1-yard run.
Marshall’s Brady Kleinheinz completed five of six passes for 225 yards and had scoring passes in the first half of 51 and 60 yards to Mitchell Pletcher and one to Max Timpel good for 78 yards.
Matthew Motl added a pair of 1-yard touchdown runs, Brayden Klubertanz scored on a 1-yard run and Remington Braun returned a fumble 54 yards.

The Warhawks led 43-0 at halftime and held the Hornets scoreless.
Four of Weyauwega-Fremont’s seven touchdowns came in the first quarter. Brayden Arndt scored on runs of 16 and 9 yards and Kameron Zielke added a 12-yard quarterback keeper and a 42-yard scoring pass to Arndt.
The Warhawks added two more scores in the second quarter, as Vanden Hoffman and Dawson Lind scored on runs of 5 and 15 yards, respectively.
A running clock meant limited possessions in the second half, but the Warhawks found the end zone in the third quarter on Carter Birdyshaw’s 5-yard run.
Zielke completed six of seven passes for 103 yards and also led the Warhawks in rushing with 104 yards. Arndt caught three passes for 61 yards.
Manawa will host Weyauwega-Fremont at 7 p.m. Friday, Sept. 1, in the CWC-East opener for both teams.
