On Feb. 3, Manawa Police Officer Jeremiah Johnson was contacted by the grandmother and mother of a 4-year-old child.
As part of the investigation, Johnson took the child to Riverside Medical Center for a physical examination and a juvenile caseworker interviewed the child.
Much is a registered sex offender who served 10 months in jail and spent seven years on probation after being convicted of repeated sexual assault of the same child in October 1998. In February 1998, he was convicted of misdemeanor sexual assault, placed on two years' probation and sentenced to 90 days in jail.
He is currently being held in custody on a $50,000 cash bond.
Much faces up to 60 years in prison if convicted of sexual assault of a child, with a minimum 25 years of confinement.
