Police say a Manawa driver’s blood-alcohol content was more than twice the legal limit when he was arrested.
James E. Nechkash Jr., 45, is charged with his fifth drunken driving offense.
Shortly before 1 p.m. on April 30, Wisconsin Trooper Henry Glick made a traffic stop on State Highway 22 after he saw a driver without his seat belt.
While speaking with the driver, identified as Nechkash, the officer noticed a can of beer on the passenger floorboard and began questioning him about it.
“It appeared the driver was having difficulty comprehending what was being said to him,” the criminal complaint says.
When asked how much he had to drink, Nechkash reportedly said, “Ummm ... under a six pack.”
A subsequent blood test indicated Nechkash had a .20 BAC.
Nechkash was also cited for failing to wear a seat belt, operating without a valid driver’s license and operating without proof of insurance.
