Manawa earned a regional championship, going through Crandon and Coleman to win the title.
Manawa 11,
Crandon 1
Olivia Zielke struck out 11 batters as the pitcher led Manawa past Crandon 11-1 on May 27. Zielke allowed zero hits and one run over six innings while walking none.
Manawa scored six runs in the fourth inning on the way to victory. Taelyn Bonikowske scored one run, Lily Krenke hit an inside-the-park home run and had three RBI, Kelsey Behnke had an RBI, and Zielke singled for a one-run RBI.
The Wolves got on the board in the bottom of the first inning after Briley Rosin doubled to center field and Ellie Stroesenreuther hit a sacrifice fly, each scoring one run.
Emma Koplien took the loss for Crandon. The starter went five and two-thirds innings, surrendering 11 runs (six earned) on 15 hits, striking out one and walking one.
Manawa 10,
Coleman 2
The Wolves scored eight runs in the fifth inning, which helped them defeat Coleman 10-2 on May 29. Krenke hit a solo home run to left field Stroesenreuther doubled for one run,
Manawa got on the board in the bottom of the third inning after Alayna Seeger grounded out and Coleman committed an error, each scoring one run.
Annabell Markiewicz homered to center field, which helped Coleman tie the game at two in the top of the fifth.
Manawa went on to score eight unanswered runs to finish off Coleman.
