Lorie Anne Manteufel of Waupaca passed away at age 67 on Tuesday, October 10.
She was born Lorene Anne Pomerenke to Orville and Billie Pomerenke on October 4, 1956, and graduated Waupaca high school in 1974. Much of her career was spent providing for others at the Wisconsin Veteran’s Home in King.
Lorie is survived by siblings Bill (Pam) Pomerenke, Wayne (Tammy) Pomerenke, Kelly (Bob) Hansen, Linda (Larry) Mundt, and Lisa (Greg) Shulke. Lorie is also survived by her daughter Melissa (Scott) Miller, four grandchildren, several great-grandchildren, a lengthy list of nieces and nephews, and her long time companion John Witzeling.
Lorie used her hobbies of bowling and golf as excuses for her love to travel. She loved her family and her friends, was generous to a fault, and always put others before herself. She loved Christmas and made the best cheesecakes. She will be missed by all who were fortunate enough to know her.
A remembrance will be held Saturday, 10/21, from 1 – 5 pm at Silver Lake Lanes in Scandinavia.
