IOLA – A new metal works business in Iola has become popular around the community as more and more people are looking for unique metal artwork.
The new business, KSF Metal Works, is owned by Cavan Kosloske, and is located across from the Iola Car Show grounds.
Originally from Rosholt, Kosloske moved to Iola ten years ago. He’s been in metal fabrication for almost 13 years, mostly in Stevens Point.
“I just love the fact that people can come to me with an idea, roughly what they would like done and I’m able to make it a reality,” Kosloske said. “Just seeing their reaction when they see it is kind of makes it all worth it.”
A little over a year ago he decided he would go into business for himself.
Currently he is creating a seven-foot fork for the Crystal Café as well as a giant arch. There is also an order for an archway at Rosie’s Dog Park and he is hoping to complete two-by-two foot dog silhouettes to donate to the dog park to hang on the fence.
Kosloske said he can do custom shelving, tool holders, essentially anything you can think of that you would want in your shop or yard.
One project he recently completed were metal brackets for the hanging flower baskets for downtown Iola.
Laura Krogwold, the Village of Iola clerk and treasurer, said she and the Director of Public Works Glenn Tetzlaff, were having a difficult time finding the right bracket to use for the flowers.
Missy Fenn, the deputy clerk and treasurer, found Kosloske’s advertisement online and Krogwold said she contacted him and within less than two days he dropped off a mock-up of the brackets.
“If it wasn’t for him we wouldn’t have hanging flowers until late August,” she said. “Not to mention these are way cooler looking then a plain bracket.”
The unique brackets have been hung downtown with the hanging flower baskets in place, which helped complete the Iola Revitalization’s Committee’s downtown beautification project.
“I enjoy bringing people’s dreams to reality,” he said.
