David L Morey, 93, of The Villages FL, passed away peacefully surrounded by family on April 2, 2023 at the Cornerstone Hospice in The Villages.
David was born August 2, 1929, in Waupaca, Wisconsin to Walter and Florence Morey. He married Dolores Robbins also of Waupaca on September 18, 1948. He graduated from Waupaca High School in 1947. He went on to work in various businesses in the area in personnel. David and Dolores retired in 1995 and moved to The Villages in Florida. David was active in many activities including golf, bowling, bocci ball, pickle ball and water aerobics. He enjoyed music and in his younger years, played trumpet in bands with his dad, city band and in church. He also led choirs in two local churches and sang solos, duets and in quartets. He enjoyed all the concerts, music on the squares, that The Villages offer.
David is proceeded in death by his parents, his sister Lolajean Morey, and his daughter, Paula Weisbrod.
He is survived by his wife of 74 years and son, Lee (Dawn) Morey, daughter Karen (Jeff) Petersen, son Timothy (Wendy) Morey.
He is also survived by 13 grandchildren and spouses, 24 great grandchildren, and 1 great great grandchild. He loved them all dearly. He was a wonderful husband, father and grandfather.
A Memorial service will be held at Faith Community Church, Waupaca, Wisconsin, at 3 p.m. on July 12, 2023.
In lieu of flowers, a memorial has been established.
