Susie Nelson, born Dianna Lynn Nelson on November 10, 1949, in Waupaca, WI, passed away peacefully at home on Sunday, June 25, 2023 at the age of 73.
After graduating from Waupaca High School, she attended UW-Stevens Point where she received her bachelor’s degree and was a member of Theta Phi Alpha Sorority. For 34 years she worked as a CAD/GIS mapper for Wisconsin Gas which later merged with WE Energies.
Susie is survived by her brother, Dennis (Donna) Nelson of Arkansas; sister, Jean Schwarten of Waupaca; Godchildren: Veda and Adam Philbin and Brad Abrahamson; many nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews; and special cousins: Larry Durrant and Denise Abrahamson and their families.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Carl and Josephine (Cartwright) Nelson; her biological father, Harold Wagner; and niece, Carla Metcalf.
Graveside services will be held in September. Details will be announced as the date approaches. The Maple Crest Funeral Home of Waupaca assisted the family with arrangements.
