New London sweeps county track meet

Clay Fee clears 8 feet, 6 inches in the boys' pole vault event April 15 at the Waupaca County Meet in Clintonville. Fee eventually placed fourth with a top height of 9 feet. His teammate, Isiah Schuh, placed first with a height of 12 feet, 6 inches.

Vater wins three events for I-S boys

New London High School’s track team headed to Clintonville April 15 for the annual Waupaca County Meet and returned home with a pair of team championships.

The boys’ and girls’ squads placed first at the meet, which featured six of the county’s seven high schools.

The boys finished with 150 points, ahead of Iola-Scandinavia (117), Manawa (110), Weyauwega-Fremont (102), Waupaca (97) and Clintonville (79), while the girls scored 183 points, followed by Manawa (155), Weyauwega-Fremont (145), Clintonville (64), Waupaca (60) and Iola-Scandinavia (23).

• 100-meter dash: Hunter Schlueter, Manawa (11.57).

• 200-meter dash: Hunter Schlueter, Manawa (23.79).
• 400-meter dash: Trystan Krueger, Clintonville (52.19).
• 800-meter run: Charlie Vater, Iola-Scandinavia (2:02.63).
• 1,600-meter run: Charlie Vater, Iola-Scandinavia (4:29.7).
• 3,200-meter run: Charlie Vater, Iola-Scandinavia (10:43.69).
• 400-meter relay: Manawa (Thomas Bartelt, Justin Buschke, Tanner Nienhaus, Hunter Schlueter) (44/52).

New London's Macy Reybrock had the lead in the girls' 1,600-meter run April 15 at the Waupaca County Meet. Reybrock won the race as well as the 800-meter run to help the Bulldogs win the girls' championship at the six-team meet, which also included teams from Clintonville, Iola-Scandinavia, Manawa, Waupaca and Weyauwega-Fremont.
