On Dec. 10, 2010, New London Police Officer Thomas Algiers met with a man at a home on the 1600 block of North Star Court. The man reported that some time after his mother moved into a nursing facility, her home had been broken into and a number of items stolen. Two TVs, a stereo, a cuckoo clock and jewelry were among the stolen items.
Algiers inspected the home and found no sign of forced entry. According to the criminal complaint, Heuer's mother had a key to the woman's home because she looked in on her prior to her moving into the nursing facility.
On Feb. 10, New London police executed a search warrant at a home on the 200 block of East Washington Street. They found the items that had been stolen.
The home's owner reportedly told police that Heuer gave him the two TVs, the stereo and jewelry, as well as other items, in exchange for Oxycontin.
Heuer reportedly told police that he broke into the woman's home a total of five times.
He faces up to 12 years in prison if convicted of burglary.
