New London wrestling wins on senior night.

Bulldogs wrestling defeated Menasha as they won in their dual meet during senior night at home on Jan. 30.

To start the matchup, the girls’ participants matched up as New London’s three-time state champion senior Hailie Krueger defeated her opponent by pinfall.

In the opening match of the dual meet, Preston Krueger got the win for the Bulldogs as he won in the 215-pound weight class, and he got the pin to put New London up 6-0.

In the 285-pound division, senior Braxton Bryant won by major decision as he got the 6-1 lead in the opening two minutes of the match and took a 9-1 advantage in the second period. Bryant finished off the match 12-1 put New London up 10-0.

In the 106-pound division, Menasha won by forfeit to make it a 10-6 score. 120-pound went to New London with a forfeit.

William Christopher won by pinfall in the 132-pound weight class, and the Bulldogs went up 22-6.   

138-pound weight class went to Menasha, and a forfeit in the 144-pound class went to New London, making it a 28-9 score. A New London forfeit made the score 28-15.

157-pound win by Anakin Abel kept the Bulldog’s momentum going up 32-15. A pin in the 165-pound gave New London the 32-21 lead.

Phoenix Fletchers’ scored a quick emphatic pinfall in the 175-pound weight class, and a forfeit in the 190-pound division gave New London the 44-21 victory.
