Deputies find meth in suspect’s purse

Loretta K. Nagorski, 42, formerly of Plover, is charged in Waupaca County with possession of methamphetamine, resisting an officer, disorderly conduct, possession of drug paraphernalia and misdemeanor bail jumping.

Shortly after 6 a.m. Tuesday, June 1, Waupaca County Deputy Brady Deuman was dispatched to the village of Scandinavia in response to a noise complaint.

Deuman encountered a yelling and screaming woman, identified as Nagorski, in a wooded area near the river, south of the Mill Street bridge.

According to the criminal complaint, Nagorski kept yelling at the officers despite their repeated requests to stop as she was creating a disturbance.

“Nagorski appeared emotional and her speech was incoherent and bizarre at times,” the complaint says.

Nagorski reportedly accused the officers of being “fake people in costumes pretending to be cops and that they worked for the DNR.”

Sgt. Kyle Wiskirchen located Nagorski’s roommate, who tried unsuccessfully to calm Nagorski down.

After she yelled a profanity at the officers, Nagorski was arrested.

Once inside the squad car, officers say Nagorski slipped her handcuffs off and removed her seat belt.

At the county jail, a corrections officer reported finding a glass bulb smoking device on her person and two gem bags containing white crystals that tested positive for methamphetamine.

Nagorski remains in custody on a $2,000 cash bond.

Judge Vicki Clussman ordered that Nagorski undergo a competency examination.
