Archie Glen Dale Overby, aged 76, passed away peacefully on January 18th, 2025, at Richardson Methodist Hospital in the Dallas, TX area surrounded by his wife of 53 years and three children.

Archie, son of Clint and Mary Bell Overby (Herriman), was born on October 31,1948 in Rotan, TX.  A star athlete in high school he excelled at both football and baseball while helping to support his family working in the oil fields and delivering papers to the local community.  After graduating high school Archie went to Texas Tech University and received degrees in Business Administration and Doctor of Jurisprudence.  Upon graduation, Archie began a career in banking leading a number of midwestern banks to prosperity ultimately arriving in Waupaca, Wisconsin where he would lead and grow the First National Bank of Waupaca into a respected regional banking institution.

Archie had many passions ranging from travel to golf to spending time with his family and friends.  He enjoyed cheering on his Texas Tech Red Raiders and was one of the few who could claim being both a Dallas Cowboy and a Green Bay Packer fan.  Most importantly, Archie was dedicated to his community supporting many local youth sport initiatives ranging from baseball to football.  Specifically, Archie led local efforts in Waupaca to improve and develop new schools that provided new facilities that students are able to utilize to this day.

Archie is preceded in death by his parents Clint and Mary Bell Overby, and his brothers Joe and Donald Overby.  He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Margaret Overby (Shelby) and his children Clint Overby (wife Deanna), Carie Heckler (husband Alan) and Casey (wife Kate) and his eight grandchildren (Sarah Overby, Olivia Overby, Laura Overby, Madeline Heckler, Finley Heckler, Caitlyn Heckler, Emma Overby and Amelia Overby).
