Pacelli advances to State Championship

Pacelli advanced to the WIAA State baseball championship game on June 19 after making short work of Edgar in the semi-final on June 17. Pacelli’s bats fell silent in the title game as they could not get the final win against Johnson City.

Pacelli got through the semi-finals without much resistance from Edgar as five different players had RBIs, including Lucas Haemmerle, who had five, and Tomas Uemura, who contributed three.

Keltin Opper pitched all five innings, allowing three hits as Pacelli ended the game after only five innings of play to advance to the Division 4 Championship game.

In the championship game, Pacelli bats fell silent as they could get only two hits on the board. Johnson Creek jumped out to a 3-0 lead after the first inning as they hit a pair of RBI triples and a sacrifice fly for a run.

In the third inning, Johnson Creek took a 4-0 lead after an RBI base hit and put the score out of reach in the seventh inning as they went up 5-0 after an RBI groundout.
